Shane Jandro took home more than $19,000 from placing 655th in the World Series of Poker. Jandro started with a $7 entry fee in a satellite tournament hosted by LondonPokerClub and gradually progressed through the tournament ladder earning a berth at the WSOP.

LondonPokerClub’s Shane Jandro beat out more than 8,000 players giving him a slice of the guaranteed prize pool in the World Series of Poker.

Jandro won his spot through a $7 (yes, $7) satellite on LondonPokerClub.com. He walked away from the WSOP at 655th place, multiplying his $7 thousands of times over as he wins $19,050.

Jandro started playing Texas Hold’em for fun with friends. Soon afterwards, he dabbled into online poker, loggin on to LondonPokerClub.com, where he went against different people from the world over. “London Poker Club.com really got my attention and interest with their enticing inexpensive online tournaments,” says Jandro.

“I had never played in such a tournament, so I figured for $7 why not give it a try,” states Jandro of the $7 satellite tournament that had a startup of 50 players.

Jandro placed 2nd at the satellite and gained entry to the next satellite tournament whose buy-in was worth $60. He then placed in the top 3 of that round, which in turn let him into the final tournament to be entered into the 2006 WSOP in Las Vegas.

Shane placed 2nd out of 354 people, and at that time was by far the biggest tournament he ever played in.

“I love to play poker, and from the first day I started playing online, I always dreamed of playing in the WSOP,” said Jandro. After that round, he was again automatically in the running for a chance to play in the WSOP, which he eventually won.

“I was shocked and extremely excited!” says Shane “I had been following the big names of the WSOP from previous years! And now I would be actually playing with these people!”"I was very nervous the first day, but after an hour I started to feel more comfortable,” said Jandro.

“I was very happy to be there and satisfied with the outcome of my performance, I wish I would have been able to stay in longer. It is always nice to win more money but that’s a new goal for next year.”
